Still more companies reporting higher prices

Last week brought news of many companies that have raised the prices of their products.  This week, it’s more of the same:

  • “News Corp. said Wednesday its fiscal first-quarter profit rose 11% on the international box office proceeds from “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs” and higher fees at its cable channels, along with the absence of a charge it incurred in the year-ago period.”
  • “Molson Coors 3Q profit rises 37 pct on price hikes.”
  • Higher prices and germ-wary shoppers who rushed to stock up on disinfectants helped The Clorox Co. earn 23 percent more in the first quarter this year than last, the company said Monday.”
  • “Viacom Inc. and Discovery Communications Inc. said they are seeing increased demand and higher prices for TV commercials as they head into the holiday season, adding to an up-tempo chorus after a brutal year for advertising.”
  • “Elpida’s Net Loss Narrows On Rising Chip Prices.”
